One Hundred Years Of Solitude :- This book is amazing. It’s about the experience of indigenous people where threat of colonialism is looming. It’s like a huge ancestral history lesson. But it’s not mundane, it’s sprinkled with magic. Magic that looks so real it’s basically commonplace. (yk magical realism, It’s a great classic)
Things Fall apart :- Another post colonial literature, morally gray characters, a different culture. No magical realism though
Master and the Margarita :- This is my favorite :)
Small Gods :- Kinda like PK but so much funnier. It’s from the perspective of a religious zealot,
The Bell Jar :- This one book will teach you so much about the female perspective. Ik you're a woman 😶
1984 :- The best dystopia ever, hegemony, media and individuality in such scenarios
Catcher in the Rye :- It’ from the perspective of a troubled kid, it’s amazing. The end is what makes it so close to my heart, because I’ve had the exact same moment of catharsis :)
